Szanowni Państwo, Bracia i Siostry w islamie,

życie stanowi bezustanny sprawdzian, któremu poddaje nas – każdego pojedynczo i całą ludzkość – Wszechmogący Bóg. Nadeszło właśnie Święto Ofiarowania – Id al-Adha, Kurban Bajram, upamiętniające wypróbowanie proroka Abrahama, czy będzie w stanie poświęcić własnego syna w imię poddania się Jedynemu Bogu, w imię wierności Stwórcy Wszechrzeczy.

Podczas świątecznych dni starajmy się, m.in. poprzez modlitwy i czytanie Koranu, zbliżyć do Najwyższego (słt). Niech staną się one źródłem naszej pokory wobec Boga, niech uświadomią nam, iż każde odstępstwo z Prostej Drogi, choćby niewielkie, prowadzi do kolejnego, większego. Zastanówmy się, co jesteśmy w stanie poświęcić dla swego własnego dobra, jak cenną ofiarę złożyć dla dobra powszechnego.

Bierzmy przykład z proroka Abrahama: wierzmy i ufajmy Wszechmogącemu. On odpłaci tysiąckrotnie za najmniejszą choćby ofiarę.

Tego, w imię Boga Miłosiernego i Miłościwego, serdecznie Państwu życzę.

In the name of God, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

we are approaching the wonderful opportunity to meet the Almighty: Festival of the Sacrifice – Id al-Adha, Kurban Bayram. Together with the entire Muslim world, we unite in the memory of the trial that God experienced the prophet Abraham. We unite in prayers and in the willingness to dedicate to our Creator what is the most important to us: hearts and minds. By making a symbolic sacrifice, we would like to come closer to Him, confirm our faithfulness and complete submission to the will of the Most Merciful, the Most Gracious. It is also a proof of our mutual human bond, supporting each other in the name of God, a feeling of something special that connects right-believing people regardless of their origin, social status, or place of residence.

This sanctified tradition is our obligation towards God, ummah, our families, and ourselves. So let us spend the festive days praying, reading the Koran and doing good. Let us be happy and in harmony with our families, friends and close acquaintances. Let us show kindness to the poor and needy, let us share with them, as much as we are able to. Let us trust in the Almighty: He helps His devoted servants in all things.

Let the prayers and sacrifices of each of us be accepted, and health, peace and prosperity become our participation by God’s will. I sincerely wish you this, on the days of the Festival of Sacrifice –and forever.
